Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actress. Her debut film role as an archaeologist in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989, her role as Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character from A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985) She went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. The result was an enviable professional career as a model for commercials. Doody was adamantly against glamour and sexually explicit work. This was a policy allowed her to pursue an acting career. In 1985, following getting noticed by the directors who were casting a James Bond new film, Doody took a small portion of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of the top 12 promising young Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was only 18 years old at the time of her appearance in the Bond role. Today she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke in 1987, was a film from the beginning where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 adaptation from The Secret Garden. She was Lilias. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first leading part. It aired in 1988 opposite John Hurt, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress starred alongside Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Elsa Schneider, an Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as a archaeologist for forensics in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played the role with Sean Connery, who played the character's father. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was in the spirit of a publication scam named the Hitler Diaries. Following her move to Hollywood Doody made her a star. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as spokeswoman for L'Oreal she went on to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II in the role of Flannery the agent's girlfriend. Doody who was away from acting for almost 10 years, came back in 2003 to play a small role on her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her as a character at an awards ceremony. She was in the film alongside Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody recorded a part in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. She guested in RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. On 21 November 2018 she received the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
